This was my second time inking in another artists' piece. I got into contact with Mike asking him if it was okay to practice on some of his stuff, because I would love to gain experience as well as have some other items help with my portfolio ((only on the inking portion of course!))


Have you ever sat down and been so inspired by a piece that you didn't realize how long you sat for? I completed this in one sitting and it took roughly 5 hours. It was just so much fun to ink in and was a GRAND relief from the storyboards I had been coloring for my class, that I just never really knew how much time went by until I was completely finished!


There are SOME mistakes from what I can tell, but all in all, I am very very happy with it! The main character was obviously my favorite part to work on and THAT HAIR!! So much work went into that alone with I think it's around 3-4 layers of various line depths, all completed by hand. I can't WAIT to see this colored! If I was better at digital coloring, I might try it myself ((still might for practice sake!))


I used multiliner inking pens ((India Ink)) and a white gel pen to bring out the highlights.
